All of us can understand the difficulties of making new friends; we tend to get so absorbed in technology these days with so much information found simply within our pockets. We’ve gained many benefits with the information age, but we’ve also lost something important: that personal touch between people. So it’s not uncommon for students (and even adults!) to forget how to properly forge friendships, and it’s even more difficult to do so when school isn’t in session. That’s why winter math camps<\/a> are often fantastic ways of making new friends, and here’s why.<\/p>\n

Like-Minded Students in a Like-Minded Camp<\/h3>\n

We understand for a lot of math-inclined students the satisfaction of figuring out a difficult logic puzzle<\/a> or solving some hard math problems<\/a>. The pain point is that it’s not always the “hot topic” among peers\u2014discussing quadratic equations doesn’t exactly bring all the students to the classroom. So that’s why it’s best to have students in a winter math camp, so they can discuss topics they love together. That’s where friendship begins\u2014like-minded people talking about topics they love!<\/p>\n

Friendships That Last a Lifetime<\/h3>\n

Areteem is proud to stand behind our winter math camps as being one of the best methods of establishing friendships that are forged during the duration of the camp and tend to last lifetimes. We have heard stories about people connecting on a platonic level at camp and then reuniting at universities later.
