ZIML Math Contest Begins Today

Posted by

The Mathmagicians of our ZIML Committee have crafted another set of fun challenges for this month’s competition, which began this morning and ends Sunday at midnight. Be ready for questions that will test your problem-solving abilities and your knowledge of algebra and geometry, probability, and number theory. There are 5 levels: Elementary school, Middle school, High school, Junior Varsity, and Varsity.

This month it’s important to participate because the AMC 10/12 is coming up this week on February 7th. According to the MAA website, “The AMC 10/12 is the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad.” There’s no better preparation for that competition than trying your hand at our ZIML competition! And see our most recent post for the benefits that competing can provide for your future should you choose to pursue a career in STEM.

ZIML Math Contests are available online during the school year each month, and there are onsite ZIML Math Contests at our Summer Camps which this year will be held at UCSD, Georgetown University, and in Chicago and San Jose. Our ZIML app is free and available in the App Store or through Google Play. Go to ziml.areteem.org to find out more, and click on Monthly Contests to join this weekend’s contest.
