2024 Summer Math Camps
Areteem summer camps are a place for advanced elementary school, middle school, and high school students who love math to expand their problems solving skills and learn advanced techniques, all while having fun! These STEM camps are a great way to prepare for math competitions such as AMC 8, AMC 10+12, AIME, and more. All summer camp programs feature problem solving in algebra, geometry, counting & probability, and number theory.

Summer 2024 will feature two onsite camps. For each camp students can join as a residential student where they live in the dorms on campus with other campers and camp staff or as a day student where they are dropped off and picked up each day for classes (Sunday through Thursday).

Summer 2024 will feature one online option:
- Our four week 2024 Online Summer Camp Program will be held from 7/8 - 8/2 with classes 9am - 3pm Pacific Time Monday through Friday. This camp features dedicated weeks for problem solving in algebra, geometry, counting & probability, and number theory. Click here to learn more.

2024 Boston Onsite Summer Camp

2024 Online Summer Camp
- Held online with access from classes.areteem.org.
- Dates: July 8th - Aug. 2nd. 2024 (4 week online camp, with classes Monday - Friday)
- Time: 9am - 3pm Pacific Monday through Friday with lunch break from 12-1pm and short morning and afternoon breaks
Each week can be done independently and will focus on a single subject:
- Algebra (7/8 - 7/12)
- Geometry (7/15 - 7/19)
- Counting & Probability (7/22 - 7/26)
- Number Theory (7/29 - 8/2)
Each subject will have levels for students of different grades and ability levels, ranging from middle school to advanced high school math.

2024 Summer Onsite STEAM Camp
- Held onsite at Areteem Intelligence Planet Orange County in Lake Forest, CA (bordering Irvine).
- Dates: July 8th - July 26th, 2024 (3 week camp, with classes Monday - Friday)
- Time: 9am to 4pm Pacific Time each day, with an hour break for lunch from 12pm to 1pm. (Students must bring their own lunch.)
Mornings will cover a review of fundamental math plus an introduction to problem solving for math competitions. Students will practice their math skills and learn new problem solving techniques. Afternoon Sessions will run from 1pm to 4pm Pacific Time. They will cover STEAM topics.
The schedule of topics is found below. Students may register for individual weeks, but we recommend students attend all three weeks.
For elementary and early middle school students (grades 3 - 6):
- Week 1 (7/8 - 7/12) Morning: Word Problems, Afternoon: English Writing: Creative Writing
- Week 2 (7/15 - 7/19): Morning: Geometric Reasoning, Afternoon: Fun Coding with Scratch and Python: Interactive Stories
- Week 3 (7/22 - 7/26): Morning: Numbers and Number Sense, Afternoon: Web Design and Publishing: Building a Descriptive Webpage

Areteem Summer Program Refund Policy
The official summer program refund policy is available on the registration site at this link. In summary:
- If you complete all the required application documents but are denied admission to the camp, the tuition (minus a $50 application fee) will be refunded in full.
- Regardless of the completion status of the required application documents:
- If the student cancels enrollment 61 days before the program starts, the amount of the camp tuition, minus a $200 administrative fee, will be refunded.
- For cancellation requests made between 30 and 60 days before the program starts, 50% of the tuition will be refunded.
- No refund is available within 1 month of the program start date.
- Areteem reserves the right to cancel a camp at any time (due to low enrollment or any other unforeseen reason). In the result of a cancellation, students will be notified as soon as possible. Students in camps canceled before the start date are entitled to a full refund. In the extreme event that Areteem needs to cancel a camp that has already started, students will receive a prorated refund.
* Exceptions can be made for special situations (e.g. medical reasons) on a case-by-case basis at Areteem Institute’s discretion.
The following modified policy gives parents and students a extra time for planning for the 2022 Onsite Summer Camp. Note all other camps still follow the above policy.
2022 UC San Diego Onsite Summer Camp (Modified) Refund Policy
- If you complete all the required application documents but are denied admission to the camp, the tuition (minus a $50 application fee) will be refunded in full.
- Regardless of the completion status of the required application documents:
- If the student cancels enrollment before June 1st, 2022, the amount of the camp tuition, minus a $200 administrative fee, will be refunded.
- For cancellation requests made from June 1st and June 23rd, 2022, 50% of the tuition will be refunded.
- No refund is available after June 23rd (1 month before the program start date).
- Areteem reserves the right to cancel a camp at any time (due to low enrollment or any other unforeseen reason). In the result of a cancellation, students will be notified as soon as possible. Students in camps canceled before the start date are entitled to a full refund. In the extreme event that Areteem needs to cancel a camp that has already started, students will receive a prorated refund.

- Discounts
- Returning Summer Camp or Winter Camp Students can get $100 off when registering for an onsite day or residential summer camp. Welcome back!
- Groups of 4+ Students (at most one returning student) can receive $75 off when registering together as part of the group.
- Siblings can receive $50 off for each student who registers together.
- Scholarships
- Girls who qualify for the AIME can receive a $100 scholarship.
- Students who qualify for the USAMO or USAJMO can receive a $500 scholarship.
- Students who qualify for National MATHCOUNTS can receive a $500 scholarship.
- Top 5 National MATHCOUNTS Winners receive a full scholarship!
- College Counseling Students can receive a $500 scholarship for a residential summer camp.
You must apply any discounts during the registration process, discounts are not applied retroactively. All discounts are for onsite programs only.

Typical Schedule for Class Days (Sunday through Thursday)
7:30 to 8:30 AM: | Morning Room Check and Breakfast. (Day campers start at 9 AM.) |
9:00 to 12:00 PM: | Morning Workshop. During workshops, students learn new concepts and develop advanced problem solving skills. Through discussion and group work, students also develop the communication skills needed to explain and share their ideas. |
12:15 to 1:15 PM: | Group Lunch with classmates, instructors, and staff. |
1:30 to 4:30 PM: | Afternoon Workshop. (Often featuring a different topic and different instructor from the Morning Workshop.) |
4:30 to 6:00 PM: | Organized Sports and Recreation. (Day campers finish by 6 PM.) |
6:00 to 7:00 PM: | Dinner Break. |
7:00 to 8:00 PM: | Evening Seminars or Group Activities. Seminars highlight special topics and current events in STEM. Group Activities foster a community feel and develop leadership and communication among students. |
8:00 to 9:00 PM: | Group Study Session/Study Hall. Instructors are available for further questions. |
9:00 to 10:00 PM: | Supervised Free Time. |
10:00 to 11:00 PM: | Room Check and Lights Out. |
Typical Schedule for Non-Class Days (Friday and Saturday)
During the camp "weekends" there are field trips where students get to travel to local attractions and theme parks. These field trips allow students to experience the regional culture and cuisine.
